Shipping Policy
Last Updated: April 19, 2026
At theCaladan, every product is made to order and fulfilled through our trusted global production partners, including Gelato. This means your order is crafted specifically for you and shipped directly from the production facility closest to your location. We want your experience to be smooth and transparent, so please take a moment to read through this policy.
By placing an order with theCaladan, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this Shipping Policy.
Order Processing
Once your order is placed, it enters our production queue. Processing typically takes 2 to 5 business days, which includes production, quality inspection, and packaging. During high-demand periods, processing may take a little longer. We appreciate your patience.
Please note that processing time and shipping time are separate. Your total delivery window is the sum of both.
Shipping Time Estimates
After production is complete, estimated shipping times are:
- United States: 3 to 7 business days
- International: 7 to 15 business days
These are estimates provided by our fulfillment partners and carriers. While we do our best to meet these windows, they are not guaranteed delivery dates. Factors such as carrier capacity, customs clearance, and local conditions may affect delivery times.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
We are proud to partner with Gelato, whose global network of over 140 production partners across 32 countries allows your order to be produced as close to you as possible. This local production model significantly reduces shipping distances, carbon emissions, and packaging waste compared to traditional centralized fulfillment.
By choosing theCaladan, you are supporting a more sustainable approach to fashion — one where products are only made when ordered, eliminating overproduction and excess inventory waste.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery location, product type, and order size. All fees are displayed clearly before you confirm your purchase. There are no hidden charges.
Order Tracking
Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking link by email. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for tracking information to update after the tracking number is issued. If you do not receive a tracking email, please check your spam or junk folder before reaching out to us.
Split Shipments
Because we work with multiple production facilities through Gelato's global network, items in the same order may ship from different locations. If this happens, you will receive separate tracking links for each shipment. This is completely normal and does not indicate any issue with your order.
Shipping Delays
Occasionally, delays may occur due to high order volumes, carrier disruptions, customs processing, or circumstances beyond our or our partners' control. If your order is significantly delayed, we will do our best to keep you informed and work toward a resolution.
Under the FTC Mail Order Rule (16 CFR Part 435), if we are unable to ship within the timeframe stated at checkout, we will notify you and give you the option to either accept the revised timeline or cancel your order for a full refund.
International Orders: Customs, Duties, and Taxes
For orders shipped internationally, customs fees, import duties, or local taxes may be assessed by your country's customs authority upon arrival. These charges are outside our control and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Under the World Customs Organization (WCO) framework and local import regulations, customs authorities may hold or inspect packages. theCaladan is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
If you are unsure about potential duties or taxes in your country, we recommend checking with your local customs office before placing your order.
Incorrect Shipping Address
Please double-check your shipping address before completing your order. Because our products are made to order and enter production quickly, address changes may not always be possible after an order is placed.
If a package is returned to the sender or fails delivery due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout, reshipping costs will be the customer's responsibility. theCaladan cannot be held liable for non-delivery resulting from address errors.
Lost or Stolen Packages
If your tracking information shows your package as delivered but you have not received it, we kindly ask that you first check with neighbors, building management, or your local post office, as packages are sometimes left in unexpected locations.
If the package remains missing, please contact us at support.thecaladan@gmail.com within 7 days of the marked delivery date. We will open an investigation with the carrier on your behalf.
Please be aware that under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Section 2-509, risk of loss generally passes to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier. However, we genuinely want to help and will work with you to find a fair resolution, which may include a replacement or refund depending on the outcome of the investigation.
We reserve the right to decline claims that show clear evidence of delivery confirmation and where no carrier investigation supports a loss.
Order Changes and Cancellations
Because production begins shortly after an order is placed, modifications or cancellations are only possible before production starts. Once production has begun, the order cannot be changed or canceled.
If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible at support.thecaladan@gmail.com. We will do everything we can to accommodate your request within the available window.
Limitation of Liability
theCaladan acts as a merchant of record and coordinates fulfillment through third-party production partners including Gelato. While we take care in selecting reliable partners, we are not liable for delays, errors, or losses caused by carriers, customs authorities, or fulfillment partners beyond our reasonable control.
Our liability in connection with any order is limited to the value of that order. This is consistent with standard e-commerce practice and is in line with protections available under the Electronic Commerce Directive (2000/31/EC) for EU customers and applicable consumer protection laws in other jurisdictions.
Chargeback and Dispute Notice
We understand that sometimes things go wrong, and we are always happy to help resolve issues directly. Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer, we kindly ask that you contact us first at support.thecaladan@gmail.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly and amicably.
Please note that by completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read and agreed to this Shipping Policy. Chargebacks filed without a prior attempt to resolve the issue with us may be disputed with supporting documentation, including order confirmation, tracking records, and delivery confirmation.
Governing Law
This Shipping Policy is governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which theCaladan operates. For customers in the European Union, your statutory consumer rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) remain unaffected. For customers in the United States, applicable federal and state consumer protection laws apply.
